We would like to be able to adjust implementing a transaction fee on a customer by customer bases.

Ability to charge a service fee only for credit card payments over a certain amount.

Current Behavior:
The service fee in Workiz Pay is applied uniformly to all credit card payments, regardless of the payment amount.
Proposed Behavior:
Allow users to set a threshold amount, so that the service fee is only applied when a credit card payment exceeds that specified amount.
This feature would be particularly useful for businesses that process both small and large payments and want the service fee to reflect transaction size.

Service Fee Toggle Per Invoice/Client

Hello, I'd like to request that your Service Fee option be a toggle per invoice and per customer so that we can better cater to both our Credit Card and our Check payment method customers. Our poor check customers are paying too much for our services because the Service Fees confuse them.

Most state's laws only allow a service fee to be added on Credit Card transactions not Debit cards. Workiz pay and Stripe apparently cannot delineate between the two when running a card, making your business non-compliant. Even if I felt like asking every customer if they were using debit or credit, there isn't a way to toggle off the service fee when a debit card is used.

Option to Toggle Service Fee for Certain Invoices
Sam Niezen
I have been a Workiz user for my 5 employee company for 4 years. I recently started using workiz pay last week and it has been very beneficial. However, the cost to use a POS system is quickly adding up. I realize that there is the option to add the service fee but I have never added hidden fees to invoices. It is legal where I live but not super ethical IMO.
After brainstorming, I think I have come up with a solution that many other workiz users could benefit from. As the title suggests, having the option to toggle the service would give me the option to cover the costs of cc payments on larger jobs. I could put as a disclaimer on our website, and invoices, that totals above a certain threshold are subject to a service fee.
For example, I could have a term that payments over $2000 are subject to a 2.79% service fee. Since most of my clients spend around $450 this wouldn't affect the majority of my clients and lead to better experience on average with my service. Whereas clients with larger bills require an in person estimating process, which would give me the time to make them explicitly aware of this added cost.
I believe this would be easy to add as there is already a option to let the client pay with their CC when you go to send an invoice. This feature I am requesting could be an option right below it. It could also only show up as an option on invoices if you have the service fee option toggled on, and terms acknowledged, in your settings.
This would help my business mitigate the POS service costs as most clients these days want to pay with their cards.
Please upvote if you'd like to see this feature as well.
Thanks in advance Workiz team.

Hi, I'm Orit from the Workiz team. We are looking to add an opt out of service fee setting for a single invoice. Would you like to schedule an online meeting with our team to discuss your needs? If so, please book a time through this link https://meetings.hubspot.com/orit-tepper

Just a heads up that online transactions are generally always ran as credit. The only time they are run as debit is when the PIN is entered, which is not an option on Workiz or 99.9% of online transactions. This makes service fees completely legal since because the law is based on how the transaction is processed, not what type of card the customer physically has.

Agree. Useful for us also

I'm in the same boat and this would be great.
