Maybe after they click the link in the email, offer the client a link to download pdf. That way we still get the tracking and they can still have access to a pdf

Remove the PDF from estimate emails or add the aproval link to the attached PDF

What's the point of attaching a pdf to the estimates. If a client only opens that pdf and never clicks the link in the email we never know that they looked at the estimate. The also don't see any additional attachments that we may have included with the estimate if they never click that link. Please give us the option to remove the pdf so that clients are forced to click on that link in the email.
I've customized the email to encourage clients to click the link and tell them that my current estimating software automatically does this with no option to stop it, but most still do not click the link and it makes the email and us look disorganized.

The other propblem with attatching a PDF to an email is that you can open the PDF without opening the email. This has led to several customers not reading the explination in the email and then not understanding the different option!

Alexander Giger exactly. Unsure why its an option to begin with. It should also expire every 45 days so customers cannot pay past pricing. I dont care if the customer opened an email, i want to continue the dialogue when they clicked my link.

Reporting desperately needs to be better
Dj Haer Jr
The reporting desperately needs to be reworked or made better!
TLDR;
Overall the reporting on Workiz seems lazily made & just thrown together with simple things not making sense.
Please please please can we fix it!
So in reporting we need something that is a little more easily read and consistent.A few examples I have are:
𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭: The line chart will make the lowest number the bottom of the line chart instead of 0 (makes it hard to read when looking at a large range of dates). The report should work more like the calls report where 0 is the base and the line chart is made up from there. Also if we could get an average sales per day type thing that would help tremendously with giving us better eyes.
𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠: Same type deal as the sales report with the line chart. As well as its a bit confusing on the 'hour' option of line chart display. The reason this is confusing is because it has an inconsistent line chart where you would expect the chart to show a concrete hour range (like every hour of 24 hours) but instead it shows just the earliest and latest times a call was placed within the selected timeframe, which when comparing will cause confusion and make it hard to read the line chart accurately.
𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭: Main thing with this one is that the IDs of the leads aren't clickable like you'd expect them to be. Also if we could get a line chart for this that would be great too! So that we can see leads created in a day or something similar. We should also have a leads report similar to a jobs statistics where we can see how many leads came in from what ad sources.
𝐄𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭: Doesn't exist (when you click on it, just brings you to the estimates tab ) and isn't navigable by date or creation.
𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭: Lots of activities aren't recorded, like item creation or deletion or what was done on the job. Most times it just says updated job info and gives the job number, so we play the blame game. Also I think customer creation is important to know as well, which is not recorded in activity.
𝐏𝐚𝐲𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭: Payments should also show who input the payment, not just the tech on the job. Lots of times our dispatch will take payment over the phone and it isn't shown in payments.
𝐂𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐦 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬: In custom reports, we should have access to put more data on there and maybe the option to make line charts or column charts with the given data might be cool, but as long as the other things get touched up i think this can wait.

We do know when they view a quote don't we?

Option to remove PDF attachment in estimate
C
Craig
We need a way to disable the PDF attachment when emailing an estimate. Potential customers constantly view only this PDF attachment and never go the online version. They need to have no choice other than going to the online portal to view and accept estimates. If they don't go to the portal they miss the link to accept the estimate, they never see any additional attachments that I may have included, and I can't see that they viewed the estimate.

Ability to Send Estimates without PDF Attachment in Workiz
Guy Z
I would like to request a new feature for Workiz: the ability to turn on/off the option to send estimates without the PDF file attachment.
Currently, when we send estimates to our clients, we attach a PDF file containing all the details of the estimate. However, this creates some challenges for us, especially when the estimates expire or when we need to limit the ability for our clients to share them.
Sending estimates without the PDF file attachment would allow us to be easily notified when the clients review the estimates (we cannot tell when they open the PDF file only when they click the client portal) as well as easily remove or update expired estimates without having to worry about the PDF files that were previously sent. Additionally, it would limit the ability for our clients to share the estimates, which is important for protecting our business interests.
I suggest that this feature be implemented as an optional setting that can be turned on or off by the user. This would allow businesses to decide whether or not they want to use this feature based on their individual needs and preferences.
THIS IS A MUST!!!
I look forward to seeing this feature added to the Workiz platform soon.

Add the option to select whether estimate/invoice will be send with PDF attached
Freddy
In case the customer opens the PDF, and doesn't go into the client portal, we don't get notified that he viewed the estimate/invoice.
Selecting whether to attach the PDF is handy to follow up with a customer right after he viewed the document.
