Tax Exempt

Is there any way to add a field on the client information area if they are tax-exempt? If that could tie into the invoicing so it knows this one is tax exempt and won't add tax automatically. Or something that you can choose the tax for that client based on tax-exempt or not, and then the tax is based on what area the job is at.

Hey everyone, Kristian from Workiz here.
Excited to let you all know that you can now mark clients as tax exempt right from Workiz! You can do this when creating a new client or by editing an existing client's details.
This automatically ensures that future estimates/invoices for this client will not be taxed. Tax-exempt statuses will also be synced with QuickBooks Online!

Boaz Schonherz there is a need to be able to mark customers tax exempt so tax is not automatically added to the invoices. It also causes issues feeding to quickbooks. Can you please provide an update on this request?

If you manually mark the customer as a tax exempt in QuickBooks, it should automatically prevent tax from being applied. This will only apply if you have the auto-calculation on.
That said, you need to make sure that QuickBooks calculates the tax correctly.
Thank you,

Why isn't there a way to mark customers tax exempt? We do work for many churches and schools and remembering to remove the tax is a challenge.

have a lot of large customers as well that are exempt. was wishing it'd carry over how its set in QuickBooks, now we need to watch each customer and make sure we set it right before sending. even just a slider for tax/no tax under client profile to set it up

Came in to suggest this and see it's already here. YES please and thank you!

BUMP! We really need this. I have customers who are municipal customers, and farms and non profits who are tax exempt.

This would be really helpful and great for tax reporting to see tax exempt sales. Currently, I created a sales tax rate that is 0% and use that as it shows up on the sales tax report as well.

This would be nice with the additional thought of setting a client's property tax exempt. Either way would be awesome!
