Spammy document title when sending estimates
complete
Johannes Hock
When sending estimates via Workiz, it attaches the estimate as a PDF document which is great. Unfortunately, it names the documents a very spammy name like "document-23jnav9j4wrnakdu2398o[jca23mu4".
It should just use the name of the estimate in the system like "Estimate 1" or what ever name we gave that estimate in the system.

Dear Workiz users! Thanks for providing your feedback on this matter. We released a fix to this issue today, and moving forward the PDF filename should be identical to the estimate, proposal or invoice name you have in the system.

PDF file name change
Mitchell Vizcaino
It would be nice to have all invoice PDF files have the invoice number and company name as the first thing you see when you download the file. Quickbooks does this already if you send it through them but workiz does not. It is tedious to have to change the file name from 093document103-2.pdf to something simple like invoice323APhomerepair.pdf

Disheartening that this was submitted in 2022.

Any idea when this will come to the software?

Hi - can we get an update on the timeline for this?

Additionally, we should have the option to be able to not send the PDF. It is confusing because people see the pdf and email back asking how to approve and pay the deposit, or some people print estimate and attach to email and send it back, then ask how to pay deposit.

Chris Holmesq: Yes, I agree! We really need the option to not include the PDF. I have people emailing me, calling me, and texting me to try to approve an estimate and pay a deposit. They do everything but click on the link in the estimate because they never see it and only look at the attachment. It kind of defeats the reason that I started using Workiz in the first place. I don't want to check in multiple locations to see if an estimate was accepted. I suggested this a few months ago, but it never got any votes.

Craig: actually we get this problem A LOT too. I had to change my entire template of our emails to emphasize to NOT click the PDF and that they MUST click the link to pay. Most of our older clients just don't understand it and have trouble.

Craig
Zachary Murray: This is exactly what I have done. I changed the email template too, but no matter how much I emphasize that you must click the link, no one ever does it. We also don't know when an estimate has been viewed if they never click that link. This is extremely frustrating and it wastes a lot of time. I've asked tech support about this a couple of times and they told me that they can't do anything about it.
Zachary Murray
Craig: Ya I agree this needs to be changed up. Some people just cannot Understand they have to click the link and not the PDF/
Maybe even a link ON the pdf that takes them to the webpage would work.
C
Craig
Zachary Murray: Yes, a link in the PDF would be fine too.
