Reduce Clicks in the Mobile App To See All Details
Bodie Vinyard
One of the biggest opportunities to improve the mobile experience would be reducing the number of taps required to access information that technicians use constantly throughout the day.
- Expand Details by Default
Instead of requiring us to tap “Show More” on every job, it would be much more efficient if the app displayed the full job information by default. If needed, there could be a “Minimize” option for users who prefer a more compact view. Most technicians end up expanding every job anyway, so eliminating that extra tap would save time throughout the day.
- Display the Full Service Address
It would also be extremely helpful if the complete service address were always visible on the main job screen. Currently, long addresses are truncated, which often hides important information such as:
* Suite or apartment numbers
* Gate codes
* Building numbers
* Other location details
As a result, we have to tap into Client Details just to see the rest of the address, adding another unnecessary step before arriving at the job.
These may seem like small changes individually, but over the course of dozens of jobs each week, they add up to hundreds of unnecessary taps. Reducing those extra clicks would make the app faster, more efficient, and much more technician-friendly in the field.
