OPTION TO NOT ADD ITEMS TO PRICE BOOK

it would be nice to have an option when adding a item to invoices/estimates that can allow us to either add or not add the item to the price book. When doing big customized projects it takes too long to add each item. If we could have an option to NOT add an item to the price book that would be great so instead of having to itemize everything, we can list full scope of work on a single item without adding it to the price book as it is custom to the project and wont ever be used again.

yes, we use a work arond. We just open an exsisting item - repair and change the name and add the discription. you can apply to the invoice but it will not change it in the pricebook(unless you tell it to of course). BUT workarounds are temporary fixes. You have a came up with a long term solution

We have a work around for this. We 2 tasks listed as “custom plumbing task” and “custom HVAC task”. Then we edit the price and details.

Bodie Vinyard We that as well but then some techs use that as "everything task" rather searching for the proper item. Honestly the pricebook could be a lot more user friendly for using and inputting. The way the have it now for editing just long rows of items rather than in the groups like when using the price book makes it difficult to clean up.
