OPTION TO CREATE FOLLOW-UP JOBS WHICH INCLUDE ORIGINAL ATTACHMENTS AND ESTIMATES
Luke
We are an appliance repair company, and our typical service visit goes like this:
- The technician goes to an address, charges a service fee, and creates an estimate for parts and labor. If a follow-up is required, continue to step 2.
- Admin will schedule a follow-up using the "Duplicate Job" option.
- We return at a later date to complete the repair and collect payment.
The problem is, in the duplicated job, the attachments and/or estimates are not carried over to the new job! So, our techs are unable to see the original attachments or estimates! This causes them to have to create new ones every time and/or call the office!
We also provide quotes for various repair jobs, and occasionally, customers may take one to two weeks to respond before proceeding with the work. Additionally, we offer a 90-day warranty on our repairs, so it's not uncommon for us to receive recalls that require follow-up visits to address any concerns or ensure customer satisfaction.
We desperately need to see is an option to copy or move attachments and estimates to a duplicate or follow-up job. We do not want to move the original job to the new follow-up date because we need to keep track of when the original service visit took place.
Another solution may be to have a "Create a Follow-up" option which creates a job which is directly linked to the original job with all of the original information, attachments, and estimates.
We enjoy everything else about Workiz, but having this feature would help us, and companies like ours who frequently create follow-ups, immensely.
I've attached some images of what these additional options could potentially look like. Please contact me directly if needed to address any questions or concerns.
Thank You!

I second this we go out alot of times and have to return at a later date. Same for jobs we sometimes are on a job for a week and the system is not very friendly for this as we consider every day we go to a job an "additional visit". This is also necessary for progressive billing purposes. Tying multiple visits to one work order.

I also second this inquiry. There are also some Model/Serial number info that we would also like to carry over if it is a later visit for the same machine.

I second this feature! Our techs need to be able to see previous work performed on the same job while leaving the original job scheduled at its original time.

Would you be able to accomplish these followups by creating a task on the original job? This could work unless you need to charge separately for additional repairs/warranty work.

Second that!

100% Duplicating a job should carry over all of the line items and pics of the original. Otherwise what's the point? It saves no effort over just creating a new job.

I am just curious why you can't create a new lead with the estimate for the repair. When the customer approves the repair you can return to complete the repair. I am thinking your trying to do billing for both together? If so an option may be to bill for service call. Then discount that towards estimate once they approve return trip.
