You can disable items, but for some reason we cannot fully delete an item.

We need to be able to delete items in the price-book. They get so messy and ugly for the ones we no longer use!

Deleting Disabled Items

I really would like to delete certain items and products that don't need to be in my items and products. Even the sample items that are created when we’re testing functions are saved for ever in the disabled items. So , when I want to filter to my disabled items I have to look through more items that don’t need to be there.

Delete ITEM & PODUCTS Permanently

There is NO WAY to delete Items & Products! We can just disable an item ( Doesn't help) We need to be able to delete an Item/ Product as some can be just stuff we don't offer anymore or outdated. Some are just wrong. Disabling them doesn't really help to be honest. We had an employee that use to update the Inventory and unfortunately he made a lot of mistakes in order to be able to fix any we need to delete and start over, Just changing the name doesn't really help...

This is done to help protect your historical data, and to make it easy to bring an item back if you ever need it again — without needing to recreate it from scratch. Many businesses find this helpful when reactivating seasonal items or tracking past usage.
TJ Masonius
Ariel Weil I understand that and it is a great feature, but it should be an option to permanently delete and item, just in case it was created by mistake or as a test!

Ariel Weil +1 - while experimenting with Workiz in the beginning of our onboarding, we made several items that no longer need to be in our system. And we've changed parts of our business that we no longer need/offer. I'd love to clean up our Price Book by being able to delete items entirely.

Ariel Weil Can it not be coded that it retains the historical data and categorized as "deleted, archived, disabled" etc. ?

TJ Masonius Indy Little Mohamed we are adding the option to delete items from the Pricebook. i will update once it is live.

Hey Mason Eades
In the Pricebook, you can disable an item, which means it will no longer be available or shown in future jobs, estimates, and invoices. Isn't that sufficient? Could you please clarify your exact needs?
Thanks,

Boaz Schonherz Correct. My complaint would be nearly unwarranted if we could just adjust the order of the items in the price book. They get a new number (rule: +1 startins @ 1000) for each one which sets the order.
As of now, I have to change old items to add a new item where it should be, delete and redo them all, or just have them unorganized.

Hi Mason Eades,
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are planning to enhance the entire pricebook experience in the upcoming year, and the organize function will definitely be considered as part of these improvements. I’ll provide an update once our plans become more concrete.

Yes, agree! Would be awesome

I wouldn't put too much hope into this becoming a feature. This data is structured on the backend by "linking" together with other data. If you start actually deleting records then it breaks in other places.
What they might be able to do instead is offer a "Delete" feature that will just remove the items from your view. They would still need to be there because that data has relationships with other data but you just wouldn't be able to see them anymore.
But I agree, we do need some sort of feature to hide Items/Services/Etc that would keep the UI tidy.

Kevin: one an only "hope" right? (: I appreciate the feedback! after using Workiz/SAJ for the last 5-6 yrs I can tell you the issue is the "foundation" of the software the "inventory" just like any of the other boards is just another feature... its very unfortunate because the idea is great! I wish they were all connected / synced... I feel like We should be able to control what we can/cant delete. Thanks again!
