Client booking through portal

We have all options turned off for clients to book online. However, once we have emailed a client, they are able to go into their portal and book an appointment. On our end, it says we need to approve the requested appointment. On the client end, it shows that they HAVE an appointment. We do not mind letting them request appointments for specific times, however, it should not show as booked with a client if it requires approval on our end. We would also like this to be an optional item. This will not likely happen fast enough for us, but for other new companies coming in and learning everything, this would help greatly. We only found out this was happening because we were putting ourselves in as clients to test out different features and happened to stumble upon it. There are no controls and nothing we could see that would have warned us this could happen.
