Cannot Clear Custom Date Fields

There is no way to clear out a custom date field once a date has been entered. A user should be able to remove a date entirely if it is accidentally filled in, or is no longer applicable. This creates constant confusion and frustration for various processes we have.

Users should be able to clear (make null) a custom field after inputting a value into the field, click save and it should save as null value.
